Our Story

We found our beginning through a love for our town, connecting with our community, and a true belief that all people can come together through music and through making music. We look to create opportunities for learning and to uncover each individual’s musical strengths. From there we help carve unique paths, tailored to the learner, to grow in their musical abilities. We truly believe everyone is musical, and it’s our joy to help each person we work with to see and experience that for themselves.

In 2011, Eric Bolton opened our first studio space in the stunning Grand Avenue heritage industrial building that housed Tigerbrand and Southworks outlet mall. From that space Eric was able to work with more and more clients, grow a team of incredible instructors, and also plan out local music events. The space was also many times repurposed into rehearsal space for bands and later for music video and recording as well.

During those years Eric and his team founded Cambridge Live Music, a platform to advertise local music events, and the Backlot Sessions, a concert series to feature local and traveling songwriters and give them a place to showcase their music. The Backlot Sessions still run today. They also helped coordinate live music for Cambridge events, such as the Cambridge Arts Festival, Cambridge Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts, Cambridge Scottish Festival, and summer music in the Cambridge downtown core. Eric also proudly partnered with Rufus John and Idea Exchange to create Music Is My Weapon, a program to assist local teens in their songwriting and the recording of their works.

After just over 4 years on Grand Avenue, the studio was moved to Main Street to be right in the middle of downtown Cambridge to be extra present in the local community. In this space, Eric founded Galt Love, an ongoing celebration of the Galt community.

Eric also built in the Main Street studio a much more capable recording space and soon welcomed Zach Gerber with his recording business, Skytrack Studios, to amplify their recording offerings.

More recently, Eric and his partner, Bryan, founded Grand River Pride. A grassroots organization that serves Cambridge and the surrounding area by creating and organization 2SLGBTQIA+ events.
